ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) once again proved to be a strong trend barometer in 2026. Here you can see which trends and technologies jls identified at ISE 2026. ISE 2026 took place in early February 2026 in Barcelona.
Trend 1: E-Ink 2026, the Journey Continues.
For a long time, E-Ink was mainly known as a solution for electronic shelf labels. Since ISE 2025, large-format color E-Ink displays have entered the digital signage market. This trend continued in 2026. At this year’s show, new sizes, improved color performance, faster refresh rates, and full outdoor versions were on display. However, acquisition costs and the accurate rendering of skin tones and reds remain challenging.
Trend 2: COB-LED and transparent LED.
In 2026, many LED manufacturers focused on COB LED products. COB (Chip-on-Board) solutions are well suited for creative digital signage installations due to their flexibility (including curved and corner applications), brightness, high energy efficiency, and long lifespan.
In addition to numerous transparent LED products, several LED solutions with textured surfaces were presented. These feature wood, marble, or stone finishes, allowing the display to integrate more seamlessly into architecture when switched off or showing dark content.
With Chip-on-Glass, LG introduced another LED innovation this year, although it is not yet particularly relevant for digital signage applications.

In 2026, success is not defined by the largest display or the smallest pixel pitch, but by choosing the right touchpoint in the right location.
