When I was looking for an apprenticeship, it was clear to me that I didn’t want to just sit in some IT department and do the same thing every day. I wanted something varied, where I could get to know as many different areas as possible. That’s exactly what I found at jls.

When I started my apprenticeship, to be honest, I had no idea what to expect. It wasn’t until later that I realized a digital agency is so much more than just computers and technology. Behind every project is a team that works together to develop solutions and bring ideas to life.

The coolest thing about my apprenticeship was that the work was never the same. During my apprenticeship, I was able to work in various departments, which gave me a very broad insight into day-to-day professional life.

I didn’t just work in the office; I also got to go out to provide support. This allowed me to solve problems right on the spot and build relationships with customers. At the same time, I also worked on the hotline, where I provided support for technical questions. Another exciting area was configuring devices and systems. This allowed me to take on many different tasks and figure out which areas I particularly enjoy.

It was exactly this variety that made my apprenticeship so exciting. No two days were alike, and I was constantly learning something new.

Of course, I learned a lot about IT during my apprenticeship: networks, hardware, software, Microsoft 365, and troubleshooting technical issues are all part of my daily routine now.

But the experiences I gained beyond the technical aspects were just as important. I learned to take on responsibility, communicate professionally with customers, and stay calm even in stressful situations. These skills help me just as much today as my technical knowledge does.

What made my apprenticeship at jls so special were the people. The team supported me from the very beginning, and I could always count on my coworkers whenever I had questions. We work together professionally, but there’s never a shortage of fun. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, which makes you feel at home right away.

The group outings, team events, and company gatherings were always a highlight, too. They offer a welcome break from the daily grind and strengthen team spirit. This also helps you get to know your coworkers better outside of work.

After completing my apprenticeship, I’ll be continuing at jls as Allrounder Operations. I’m really excited about that.

This permanent position does come with more responsibility, but that’s exactly what my apprenticeship prepared me for. I’m already familiar with the processes, the team, and many of our customers, and now I can take on even more responsibility.
