Daily tracking & easy recording: Track all your meals with just a few clicks, quickly capture your groceries with the barcode scanner and connect the app directly to your fitness tracker.

Personal nutrition plan & progress: Sustainably achieve your desired weight and delay your progress on your path to long-term weight control.

Recipe filters & favourites: With matching recipe filters (e.g., vegetarian, high protein, quickly prepared) you will find your favourite recipes.

Inspiration & Planer: Be inspired by delicious and healthy recipes every day and plan your culinary week right in the app.

User Experience: Tailored to your preferences

During initial A/B testing, users were observed interacting with different mockups even before the development of the Minimal Valuable Product (MVP). The results of the user tests formed the basis for the development of today's app. Personalised recipe suggestions based on your calorie budget are presented directly to you on the app's home screen. With the ability to plan your culinary week in the app and send a shopping list directly to WeNeed, you’re ready for your weight loss experience.


One step further: The app motivates you with suggested fitness videos. After your workout, you can record calories burned straight into your diary. With the support of the app by your side, you can get closer to your goal and enjoy losing weight.

User Interface: Cuisine in the spotlight  

With large images of appealing recipes, cuisine and enjoyment, the core of Betty Bossi, are clearly placed in the foreground of the Healthy Weight Loss app. Cleverly used icons (e.g., individual meals have different icons) and colours to set specific accents and the app is given an visual touch.

Losing weight enjoyably becomes a digital user experience

The app has been developed using the React Native framework. This cross-platform technology makes it possible to use the familiar native UI elements in an app and create the fluid user experience you are used to with native apps. One example is the Floating Action Button (FAB): The circular plus hovering above the bottom bar highlights the app's primary action, adding new information to your own diary.

Connecting various interfaces allows you to access the functionality and data of other systems and integrate them in the app without the need for a whole new development.

  • The RevenueCat API provides the option to make in-app purchase.
  • The Betty Bossi Recipes API gives users access to recipes.
  • Tracker connections (Apple Health, FitBit, Google Health) allow step counting.

Key Visual embodies the storyline

The app offers a unique combination of fun illustrations and informative features that transport users into the inspiring world of real-world cuisine. Betty Bossi also wants to highlight this in communication and uses various channels to promote the app. In various forms (HTML5 banner, social media & Google Ads, flyer/brochure) the content that has been added appeals visually to the target group and conveys quickly and easily which advantages the app offers and why the download delivers added value for them.


The campaign raises awareness of the traditional Swiss brand and presents the app in a visually appealing way that is specific to the target-group. Awareness of the app is increased and potential users know what to expect from the app.
