Challenge: A Children's Experience Without Screen Time
As part of the SZKB branch strategy, a new branch design was pitched. Alongside outdoor communication and the customer zone, one need stood out in particular: an offering for families with children that would meaningfully bridge waiting times, but deliberately without any screen time.
SZKB wanted a mascot experience for children: haptic, and without a screen. At the same time, the experience needed to feel regionally rooted, and it needed to match the SZKB brand.
Implementation: CMS-Driven Audio Stories
The result is a solution that brings the mascot Kabi to life without an screen, while also passing on the regional story of Canton Schwyz in a way that children can understand.
At the centre of the kids' corner sits a picture-search illustration (a tactile artwork by Büro Nord GmbH) on a wooden table, where children can freely place the Kabi figure. Four red-marked audio channels each tell a theme-based story about Kabi and his friends, travelling around Canton Schwyz. The jls CMS controls the regional audio stories as a playlist, the very same system that also maintains the branch's other digital signage displays. This creates one central content management set-up for both screen and audio content. Visitors listen through a retro-style corded handset, a deliberate nod to the telephones that used to stand in bank branches.
