Ready for a little loosening up?
Every jls employee was asked these questions in early November, when they were encouraged to form teams for this year's jls adventsgame. The aim was clear: Over three weeks, the teams were able to try to score as many points as possible in various challenges. The challenges were designed to be played from anywhere.
jls adventsgame? Three challenges.
Teams of four to eight people took part. One challenge per week was unlocked, which could be completed during the week. Points were then distributed. The more points were earned as a team, the higher the team’s Christmas ball was then placed on the jls advent tree.
In the first round, estimators were in demand. The question was: How old are all of jls employees combined? Whether it was a rough estimate using the team’s fingers or it was carefully calculated in an Excel file, numerous suggested answers were submitted.
The second round required skill and patience in the Runner Game Challenge. The game developed by our mediamatic learner himself provided an adrenaline rush during the Advent season and got some hearts beating faster. It soon became clear that the level of ambition was high and everyone wanted to beat the mark for the highest score.
Ho Ho Ho! The third challenge was in the spirit of Samichlaus. A week to take a picture with the famous man. Creativity was given free rein. The resulting Samichlaus photos were shared in the teams channel and approved for voting using heart reactions. One or two smiles were pre-programmed!
The Great Search
In addition, there was a large main challenge in which every employee was automatically entered. 16 jls Christmas balls were hidden at our three locations. In each ball there was a question about an area or location used by jls. These could also be shared in a teams channel and answered directly. Every member of staff was asked to join in with this overarching challenge and they were encouraged to interact.
Starting the Christmas holidays in a relaxed mood
It was appreciated, there was a lot of perspiration and most importantly a lot of laughter. What is clear is that the jls adventsgame was a lot of fun and definitely got everyone in a relaxed mood.
«I thought that the advent game was extremely creative and also think there was a suitable game for everyone. It has led to funny conversations between each other and also caused good feelings in the teams themselves. A really successful and entertaining event!»
«Of course, the Santa Runner game was particularly cool, but I needed a few more test runs.»ðŸ˜‰
«Every week a cool challenge that loosened up everyday work. Most importantly, the excitement of what the new challenge will be and tackling the challenge together in a team was very cool and brought a bit of variety to the year-end sprint.»
