5 Trends of ISE 2023
Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is one of the world's largest trade fairs for audio-visual technologies and systems. Every year, ISE presents a variety of new products and solutions that also advance the digital signage industry. With over 58,000 visitors, ISE 2023 recorded its second-best attendance in history, underlining the major relevance and timeliness of this trade fair in the industry.
We were able to experience innovations in the industry live at the fair and summarise the most important trends this year.
1. The most important trend for us is «sustainability».
Two technologies are exciting in the field of digital signage. On the one hand, there is which allows static screen content to be displayed virtually without consuming any power. On the other hand, there are that have evolved rapidly in recent years and are becoming much more energy efficient. The fine-resolution LEDs can now be found at virtually every stand.
2. The second trend is virtual studios.
Many moving picture productions are now made in virtual studios. TheVirtual Studio is a newer concept in media production in which a virtual environment is created using an LED installation in which TV shows, news and now even series and film scenes can be produced. These physical digital spaces are created using LED walls – which are installed on the walls and on the floor.

3. Trend number three is LED-based collaboration screens.
The large format LED screens (100 inches and larger) as an All-in-One device were being shown by many manufacturers. Some manufacturers also offer solutions with an integrated soundbar, camera and wireless connectivity.
4. Transparent LED or OLED solutions are experiencing a revival.
Transparent or semi-transparent displays and LEDs were also more common this year. This technology can be used for a variety of applications. For example, in shop windows, as digital walls or for in-store marketing campaigns. They can also be used as an interactive display where users can tap or point to the display to trigger interactions.
5. Content is still king!
For some time now, spectacular 3-dimensional LED content has been on display on many online platforms, creating an exciting 3D effect and a dynamic and impressive visual experience for viewers. Viewers are given the feeling that elements are actually breaking out of the screen and emerging into 3-dimensional space. Several such solutions could also be seen at the ISE.
