«Creating engaging user experiences takes a lot of effort,» says Cyrill. «The most important skills include a good eye, teamwork and creativity. Key factors are also the interest in digital media and the motivation to keep learning new things.»
Cyrill encounters repeated challenges in his routine work. One of them is understanding and implementing the needs and wishes of the client. Often the tastes do not overlap or you cannot find the right words for the design, which is why communication is essential during the collaboration.
A profession with a future
The flexible training plan shows that the apprenticeship to be an Interactive Media Designer is the youngest in Switzerland. As digitisation progresses, it is important that we are constantly flexible and adaptable. The digital market is changing rapidly. As early as the next morning, a new innovative solution could be presented that has an impact on our routine work every day. «This is exactly what makes my apprenticeship so exciting.» Cyrill is very interested in new topics and enjoys innovating in his professional environment. For example, artificial intelligences that can generate images from a simple description. «A few years ago, you would have thought it was almost impossible,» Cyrill says, «who knows what we can expect in the next few years?»

«I was able to take on responsibility at an early stage and contribute my own ideas, for which I am grateful.» He was soon given the opportunity to work on his own larger projects. However, Cyrill is never on his own. The discussions and cooperation with the team are essential for him and are some of the highlights of his apprenticeship. As well as the «legendary» employee events where he got to know his work colleagues in a different way.
